Region 3 Respite Coordinator
Jennifer coordinates services for families and respite providers in Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis & Washington counties. She is dedicated to cultivating awareness of the NAMI Maine Family Respite Program in the Northern Maine communities. Through her outreach, coordination, and training efforts, she is seeking to increase the number of providers and families utilizing Family Respite Program services.
Jennifer Jain joins NAMI Maine Family Respite Program as the Region 3 Respite Coordinator. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Recreation Therapy (Recreation Administration: Outdoor Therapy). Her two decades of professional experiences include work with children and adolescents with various diagnoses (such as, Asperger syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, brain injury, mood, emotional and behavioral disorders). As a Recreation Therapist, she interned at a Substance Abuse Rehabilitation program, worked as a ropes course facilitator, Camp Manager, Day Camp Director, Recreation Director in nursing homes and as a college administrator. She is not only a leader and advocate for services to citizens in need, but also works to facilitate formal and informal groups to collaborate in meaningful ways. In her spare time, she helps lead the PTO, tries to complete sewing and crocheting projects and plays in the outdoors.
