Officer Wellness

NAMI Maine has provided CIT for the entire State of Maine since 2002. As we train law enforcement to better respond to people experiencing a mental health crisis, NAMI Maine’s Executive Director found it critical that we also support the mental health of police officers. Ms. Mehnert represented every NAMI in the nation on a blue ribbon commission for the International Association of Chiefs of Police where she discovered there was no national model to promote officer wellness. She has set about to create one with a group of committed partners.  Please keep an eye on this page for updates about NAMI Maine's Officer Wellness Program.
