The likelihood of schools or youth-serving agencies encountering a suicidal youth is real. Few events are more painful or potentially disruptive to the community than suicide. Protocols provide guidance on steps to take to safely assist youth and staff by providing them with direction, structure and support. At least one member per school/crisis team participating in the Protocol Development Training must have attended a Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper training within the last 5 years.  A legislative resolve is currently pending approval that will require school districts to have Suicide Prevention Protocols in place for the 2019-2020 school year.   PLEASE BRING A CHARGED LAPTOP.
