A free, six-session education program, offered completely online through Adobe Connect, for family, friends and partners of military service members and veterans with mental health conditions. It focuses on the unique needs of military and veteran communities, such as post-deployment and post-discharge transitions. 

Veterans Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to help service members in your life who are developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Mental Health First Aid is a national best-practice, evidenced-based certification course that is 8 hours in length and leads to a 3 year certification issued by the National Council on Behavioral Health. 

Suicide Safety Planning for Natural Supports of Veterans and Service Members

A Safety Plan is a tool and a process for working with veteran or service member and their family to identify and increase the use of coping skills, social and family support and professional resources during and following a crisis situation. For more information, contact us at mhfa@namimaine.org.
